Robotic Flails Scotland
When the ground is too steep for a ride-on and too large for a brushcutter crew, a robotic flail mower is the answer.
Robotic flail mowers are specialist equipment, and buying or hiring without proper dealer support carries risks that don’t apply to simpler machinery.
When you work with ILH, you get a team that can advise on the right model, supply genuine parts, and service the machine to manufacturer standards.
Why Our Customers Love Us
Why ILH for Robotic Flails?
ILH Groundcare is Scotland’s Energreen specialist, supplying the full range of remote-controlled flail mowers for sale, hire, servicing, and parts from our Cumbernauld workshop. With models ranging from 40hp to 75hp, over 20 interchangeable attachment heads, and proper dealer backup from a team that knows this equipment inside out.
Councils, utility companies, highway contractors, and land managers across Scotland use our machines to manage slopes up to 55 degrees safely, with the operator on level ground controlling the mower by radio remote.
Built in Italy and proven across Europe, these are the machines professional vegetation management teams trust for embankments, infrastructure corridors, and large-scale slope maintenance.
Based in Cumbernauld, just off the M80 in the Central Belt, we’re Scotland’s local Energreen specialist with national reach. Family-run since 2007. Sales, hire, service, and parts from our Cumbernauld workshop.
Robotic Flails for Sale
We sell the full Energreen range, from the 40hp RoboEvo through to the 75hp RoboMax. Four models cover everything from regular embankment mowing to heavy-duty forestry mulching on large infrastructure contracts.
Every machine runs a Stage V diesel engine, sits on rubber tracks for grip on wet and uneven ground, and accepts Energreen’s quick-change attachment system with over 20 different heads available.
The RoboEvo is the entry point and the model most operators start with. The RoboFifti steps up in power for heavier vegetation, the RoboMidi adds a wider cutting width for larger sites, and the RoboMax delivers 75hp for contractors running the machine daily across long contracts.
If you’re not sure which model fits your workload, we can arrange a demo at our workshop or on your own site so you can see the machines working before you commit.
We also carry used robotic flail mowers when they become available, though the secondhand market is still limited compared to more established equipment categories. Call 0141 775 9288 for current pricing and availability.
Robotic Flail Hire
Not every organisation needs to own a robotic flail mower. If you’re cutting embankments two or three times a year, or trialling the technology before committing to a purchase, hiring from us gives you the machine and the backup without the capital outlay.
Our hire fleet is maintained in our own workshop by technicians who know these machines, so you get equipment that’s ready to work from the moment it arrives on site.
We hire with flail heads, forestry mulching heads, and other attachments depending on the job. Tell us what you’re cutting, how steep the ground is, and how large the area, and we’ll match the right machine and head to the work.
Delivery across Scotland is available, and we provide full handover training including radio remote control operation so your team can work safely and confidently from day one.
For longer contracts, we put together rates for the full duration rather than charging day by day.
Robotic Flail Servicing
Our Cumbernauld workshop handles routine servicing, hydraulic repairs, track maintenance, radio control diagnostics, and attachment overhauls on Energreen robotic flail mowers.
These are complex machines with hydraulic, electronic, and radio control systems that need specialist attention, and our technicians are trained on every model in the range.
Flail tips wear fast on abrasive ground, tracks take punishment on steep rocky slopes, and hydraulic systems work harder than on flat-ground equipment.
Regular servicing keeps the machine reliable and catches problems before they stop you mid-contract. We turn jobs around as quickly as we can because a machine sitting in a workshop isn’t earning.
Robotic Flail Spare Parts
We stock genuine Energreen parts at our workshop, including flail tips, hydraulic hoses, track components, radio control modules, and attachment pins. Flail tips are the part that wears fastest, and running blunt tips doesn’t just slow you down. It overloads the cutting head, the hydraulic drive, and the engine, which shortens the life of everything else on the machine.
Most parts are available same-day if you collect from Cumbernauld, or we can arrange fast delivery across the UK. When a wear item needs replacing mid-contract, you need the right part from someone who carries it rather than waiting weeks for a third-party import.
What Can Robotic Flails Be Used For?
Robotic flail mowers manage vegetation on slopes and terrain that conventional mowers can’t reach safely. Highway contractors use them to cut embankments along motorways, dual carriageways, and slip roads where a ride-on mower would be too dangerous to operate.
Councils cut steep parkland, reservoir banks, and flood defence embankments without putting an operator on the slope. Utility companies clear vegetation along railway corridors, around substations, and across pipeline routes where access is restricted and safety requirements are strict.
Beyond mowing, the attachment system opens up other applications. Fit a forestry mulching head and the machine clears scrub, saplings, and overgrown vegetation on land reclamation projects.
A rotary tiller prepares ground on slopes for reseeding after earthworks. A stump grinder attachment removes small stumps on embankments without bringing in separate equipment. The same machine handles multiple tasks across a contract by swapping heads on site.
Any organisation managing large areas of sloped ground, from transport infrastructure to water utilities to estate management, can reduce risk and labour costs by replacing manual brushcutter crews with a single remote-controlled machine.
