Our Compact Loader Hire Fleet

We hire two brands of compact loader because they serve different needs. MultiOne loaders are articulated machines with telescopic reach, built for operators who need lifting height, attachment versatility, and the ability to work in confined spaces. Sherpa mini loaders are smaller, lighter wheeled units designed for tight-access work where even a compact articulated loader can’t reach.

MultiOne Articulated Loaders

MultiOne loaders use articulated steering, which means the front and rear halves of the machine pivot at the centre. This gives them a tighter turning circle than a skid steer and causes less ground damage because the wheels don’t scrub sideways when turning. They also have a telescopic boom, so you get lift height and forward reach that fixed-arm loaders can’t match.

The MultiOne range runs from compact models through to heavy-duty machines, with diesel engines across the lineup. Lifting capacities range from around 400kg on the smaller models up to over 2,000kg on the larger machines, and every model accepts quick-hitch attachments from MultiOne’s range of wide range of options.

For most hire jobs, the mid-range models cover the ground. They’re compact enough to fit through gates and work between buildings, but they have the lifting capacity and engine power to handle real work across a full day on site.

Sherpa Mini Loaders

Sherpa mini loaders are stand-on or walk-behind wheeled machines. They’re narrower and lighter than articulated loaders, built for jobs where access is the main challenge. Garden landscaping through side passages, indoor work on warehouse or barn conversions, and tight residential sites where a full-size loader can’t physically get in.

The Sherpa range comes in petrol, diesel, and electric variants. The electric Sherpa produces zero emissions, which matters for indoor work and enclosed spaces where exhaust fumes are a problem. All Sherpa models accept a range of attachments including buckets, pallet forks, and grab arms through a quick-hitch system.

If the job involves narrow doorways, indoor spaces, or sites where you need to minimise ground disturbance, a Sherpa is often the better choice over a larger articulated machine.

What Can a Compact Loader Do?

The short answer is almost anything, depending on which attachment you fit. That’s what sets a compact loader apart from a mini digger or a dumper. A digger digs. A dumper carries. A loader does both of those and everything in between, because the attachment changes the job.

Who Hires Compact Loaders?

Which Compact Loader Do You Need?

What’s the Difference Between an Articulated Loader and a Skid Steer?

Articulated loaders (like MultiOne) steer by pivoting the front and rear sections of the chassis. This gives a tight turning circle with minimal ground disturbance because all four wheels follow the same path. They’re better on finished surfaces, lawns, driveways, and anywhere you need to avoid chewing up the ground.

Skid steer loaders turn by driving the wheels or tracks on one side faster than the other, which scrubs the tyres across the surface. They’re simpler machines and often cheaper to hire, but they damage soft ground and finished surfaces. For most landscaping, arb, and residential work, an articulated loader is the better choice because you’re not spending half your time repairing the damage the machine caused.

When to Choose a MultiOne

Choose a MultiOne when you need lifting capacity, telescopic reach, or attachment versatility. If you’re moving materials around a building site, loading a trailer, lifting pallets over a fence, or handling multiple tasks across a day with different attachments, the MultiOne range has the power and flexibility for it. The articulated steering also makes them the right choice when you’re working on lawns, driveways, or any surface you want to keep intact.

When to Choose a Sherpa

Choose a Sherpa when access is the primary constraint. If you need to get through a standard doorway, down a narrow side passage, or into an enclosed space, the Sherpa’s compact dimensions and low ground pressure on its rubber wheels make it possible. The electric Eco model is the obvious choice for indoor work where diesel or petrol fumes aren’t an option.

How Much Does Compact Loader Hire Cost?

Hire rates depend on the machine, the attachments you need, and how long you need them. Sherpa mini loaders are the more affordable option for shorter jobs and tight-access work. MultiOne articulated loaders cost more due to their size and capability, but they replace several machines in one, which often works out cheaper overall.

We offer daily, weekly, and longer-term rates. If you’re on a contract that runs over several weeks, we’ll put together a rate for the duration rather than charging daily. Attachments are quoted alongside the machine so you know the full cost upfront.
