The operator stands at the rear in a fixed position. It keeps the working footprint compact, and the direct hydraulic controls allow the Sherpa to handle soil, rubble, chippings, and bulk material in enclosed areas where a full-size loader can’t manoeuvre.

MultiOne Compact Loaders

MultiOne compact loaders use articulated steering, meaning the rear follows the front through a corner rather than swinging wide.

The smaller turning radius lets MultiOne work in confined areas that a rigid-frame loader can’t get around in.

MultiOne also offers greater lift height and payload than Sherpa.

For confined sites where the work involves loading a skip at height or depositing material over a wall, MultiOne covers the lift requirement while staying compact enough for enclosed working areas.

Electric options are available within the MultiOne EZ series for sites where fumes are a safety concern.

The telescopic boom on some MultiOne series lets the operator reach up and over obstacles without the machine needing to cross the site boundary.

Pedestrian Stump Grinders for Enclosed Sites

FSI’s B-series pedestrian stump grinders are the machines for stump work in enclosed urban gardens, walled courtyards, and building grounds.

They work where a self-propelled machine can’t access the site or can’t turn once it’s there.

Wheeled self-propelled grinders need space behind them to manoeuvre. The B-series doesn’t.

Pedestrian grinders follow the operator on foot, with the working head steered and turned on its own axis. Axis rotation lets the machine work in spaces too tight for self-propelled models to turn in.

A pedestrian stump grinder requires no approach run, no withdrawal space, and turns on its own axis at each stump. A self-propelled machine requires all three, so on enclosed sites without turning room or clear approach routes, the pedestrian category is the practical choice.

Lightweight enough to reposition by hand, the B-series covers sites that offer no clear run in any direction.

In ILH’s experience, the B21 is the machine most often specified for enclosed back courts and urban garden stump work in Scotland. It handles the majority of residential stump sizes without being overcapacity for the site type.

Compact Chippers for Tight Sites

For chipping on confined sites, the relevant equipment is the compact end of Forst’s range.

The TT6 and Cadet 6 are the two smallest models in the Forst line, built for situations where a full-size towable chipper takes up too much working space or won’t fit through the site entry to begin with.

The Cadet 6 handles material up to 100mm diameter, suited to light chipping on enclosed residential gardens and tight estate ground maintenance sites where the working area is small and daily output is modest.

The TT6 handles 150mm material and is the step up when chipping volume or branch size outgrows the Cadet, while still keeping a compact footprint suited to restricted sites.

Both the TT6 and Cadet 6 are towable rather than tracked. This suits the majority of confined garden and estate courtyard sites that are firm and level underfoot.
