The Forst TR6P is a tracked 6 inch wood chipper that delivers the same fast and aggressive chipping performance as its diesel counterpart, the TR6D, but uses a Briggs and Stratton Vanguard 40hp V Twin petrol engine. This makes the TR6P a significantly more economical way to acquire a tracked Forst chipper, with the petrol engine costing less than an equivalent diesel unit while still providing outstanding power and fuel efficiency. The Vanguard engine also complies with current emissions regulations without requiring any additional treatment, and comes with a 3 year warranty as standard.
The tracked chassis gives the TR6P access to sites that wheeled machines cannot reach. Variable width tracks come as standard, allowing operators to reduce the track width to pass through narrow gateways and tight access points, then expand them again for stability on rough or sloping terrain. The machine tracks fast, smoothly, and quietly, getting into position on site with minimal fuss.
Material enters through a 6 inch by 8 inch feed roller aperture into the ForstGrip feed roller system. Twin hydraulic horizontal rollers offer exceptional grip on timber, with the large top feed roller lifting on an arc toward the material rather than straight up and down. This climbing action makes handling butt ends particularly effective. High tension from twin heavy-duty springs and large bearings on either side of the top roller ensure strength and durability through sustained use.
The open top flywheel measures 640mm by 25mm and carries twin 8 inch blades. This system generates phenomenal velocity when chipping, throwing material to the front of collection vehicles using large gusseted draught fins. The chip is thrown rather than blown, which means blockages on wet material are not a problem. The combination of the ForstGrip feed system and the open flywheel gives the TR6P a chipping performance that belies its compact size.
All electrics are managed by AutoIntelligence, a fully waterproof and vibration-proof control system. Illuminated heavy-duty touch pad controls rated to IP69 are located on either side of the hopper, and feed rollers can also be controlled by the traditional feed bar. The AutoIntelligence No Stress Device monitors engine load and adjusts the feed rate to prevent stalling. A clear 30 litre fuel tank with a wide neck makes refuelling easy and allows operators to monitor fuel levels at a glance.
The TR6P weighs 1200kg and measures just 0.8m wide with tracks retracted, extending to 1.1m with tracks fully out. At 2.7m long and 2.4m tall with the chute fitted, it is a genuinely compact machine. Noise output is rated at 122dB. The anvil can be turned or replaced in minutes, and the robust steel construction with flanged and finished fabrications ensures durability in demanding conditions.
The Forst TR6P is available for both hire and sale, making it an excellent choice for arboricultural contractors, tree surgeons, and hire companies who need tracked access with 6 inch chipping capability at outstanding value for money.
