The Forst TR6D is a tracked 6 inch diesel wood chipper that offers a choice of two engines to match different operational needs. The 42hp Doosan DPF diesel delivers fast and aggressive chipping for high-volume work, while the Yanmar 24hp naturally aspirated diesel provides a lighter, more economical option. Both variants share the same robust tracked chassis, ForstGrip feed roller system, and open top flywheel that define the Forst tracked range.

The tracked design gives the TR6D access to sites where wheeled machines cannot operate. Variable width tracks come as standard, allowing the machine to narrow to 0.8m for passing through gateways and tight access points, then widen to 1.2m for stability on uneven ground. With the hopper raised, the TR6D measures just 2.6m long, making it one of the most compact tracked chippers available. When the hopper is lowered for operation, the length extends to 3.4m, and the machine stands 2.3m tall with the chute fitted.

The 42hp variant weighs 1430kg while the 24hp version comes in at 1300kg. Both models carry a clear 30 litre fuel tank with a wide filling neck for easy refuelling. Material enters through a 6 inch by 8 inch feed roller aperture into the ForstGrip system, where twin hydraulic rollers climb in an arc over the timber for maximum grip. Heavy-duty spring tension generates the crushing power needed to break limbs and forks without hesitation, and variable feed roller speed allows operators to match throughput to the material being processed.

The open top flywheel measures 640mm by 25mm and carries twin 8 inch blades. This system generates exceptional chipping velocity, throwing material directly into collection vehicles using large gusseted draught fins. The open design means chip is thrown rather than blown, eliminating blockages on wet and green material that affect closed flywheel systems. The TR6D processes everything from wet hedge clippings to solid 6 inch limbs without interruption.

All electrics are managed by the AutoIntelligence system, a fully waterproof and vibration-proof control platform designed for demanding environments. Illuminated heavy-duty IP69 rated touch pad controls are located on either side of the hopper, and a traditional feed bar provides an alternative method of controlling the rollers. The AutoIntelligence No Stress Device monitors engine load and adjusts the feed rate automatically to prevent stalling, keeping the machine at peak throughput.

The robust all-steel construction uses heavy gauge fabrications finished to a high standard. The anvil can be turned or replaced in minutes. Noise output is rated at 121dB for both variants. Every new Forst TR6D comes with a 3 year warranty as standard.

The Forst TR6D is available for sale in both engine configurations, giving arboricultural contractors, tree surgeons, and councils the choice between maximum power or a lighter, more cost-effective diesel tracked chipper.
