Forst ST6P HD
A heavy duty 6 inch towable wood chipper with all-steel construction, powered by a Briggs and Stratton Vanguard 40hp V Twin petrol engine. At 885kg, the ST6P HD shares the same chipping chamber, flywheel and ForstGrip feed roller system as the lighter ST6P but is built with robust steel panels for the demands of utility arboriculture.

The Forst ST6P HD takes the proven performance of the ST6P platform and wraps it in a heavy duty, all-steel construction designed to withstand the rigours of professional utility arboriculture. Where the standard ST6P uses GRP panels to stay under 750kg, the ST6P HD uses robust steel bodywork throughout, bringing the total weight to 885kg and delivering a machine built to take sustained punishment on demanding sites.
The engine is a Briggs and Stratton Vanguard 40hp V Twin petrol unit, the same powerplant found in the ST6P. This engine is highly fuel efficient thanks to electronic fuel injection technology, which meters fuel on demand rather than running a fixed mixture. A clear 30 litre fuel tank with a wide filling neck allows operators to monitor fuel levels at a glance and refuel quickly regardless of the filling method used.
The chipping system is identical to the ST6P and uses the same components that have made the Forst 6 series the best-selling 6 inch chipper range in Europe. Material enters through a 6 inch by 8 inch feed roller aperture and is drawn in by the ForstGrip feed roller system. Twin hydraulic rollers climb in an arc over the timber, tensioned by heavy-duty springs to generate serious crushing power that breaks through limbs and forks without hesitation. Variable feed roller speed gives operators the ability to adjust throughput depending on the material being chipped, increasing speed when conditions allow.
The open top flywheel measures 640mm by 25mm and carries twin 8 inch blades. This design is particularly effective at processing wet and green material where closed flywheel systems tend to clog. The combination of the ForstGrip feed system and open flywheel means the ST6P HD handles everything from wet hedge clippings to solid 6 inch limbs with speed and aggression that belies its capacity class.
All electrics are managed by the AutoIntelligence system, a fully waterproof and vibration-proof control platform designed and tested in harsh working environments. Feed and reverse are operated through simple touch pad buttons on the hopper. The AutoIntelligence No Stress Device continuously monitors engine load and adjusts the feed rate to prevent stalling, allowing the machine to work at maximum throughput without risking a blockage. The system also tracks running hours and service intervals, prompting maintenance when it is due.
The anvil can be turned or replaced in minutes, and the robust C-section chassis provides a solid foundation for the heavier steel construction. The twin axle running gear handles the additional weight with stability during transport. At 1.3m wide, 3.3m long with the hopper up, and 2.3m tall with the chute fitted, the ST6P HD remains manoeuvrable enough for most site access requirements. Noise output is rated at 118dB.
Every new Forst ST6P HD comes with a 3 year warranty as standard. The machine is available for both hire and sale, making it the right choice for arboricultural contractors, tree surgeons, councils, and hire companies who need a 6 inch chipper built to survive the toughest working conditions without compromise.
