Forst Cadet 6TR

The Forst Cadet 6TR is the tracked version of Forst’s popular Cadet 6 chipper, designed for landscapers and arborists who need reliable chipping performance in locations where wheeled machines struggle. Rubber tracks give the Cadet 6TR the ability to traverse slopes, soft ground, muddy sites, and uneven terrain with confidence, while the compact 1.35m width allows it to pass through standard garden gates and narrow access points.

At its core is the same proven chipping chamber found in the game-changing ST6P, featuring an open-top flywheel measuring 640mm diameter with 25mm twin 8-inch blades. The 6-inch by 8-inch (150mm x 200mm) feed roller aperture handles branches and material up to 6 inches in diameter, processed by the FörstGrip feed roller system with variable speed control. This allows operators to adjust feed speed to suit the material being processed, optimising chip quality and throughput.

Power comes from a Briggs & Stratton Vanguard 23hp V-Twin petrol engine, providing ample power for the chipping demands of this class of machine. A 30-litre fuel tank ensures extended working periods without frequent refuelling stops. The engine drives both the chipping system and the hydraulic track drive, making the Cadet 6TR a fully self-propelled unit that can be walked to the work site under its own power.

Operator convenience is central to the design. The AutoIntelligence system incorporates fully waterproof and vibration-proof touch pads for feed control, eliminating mechanical switches that can fail in harsh outdoor conditions. The AutoIntelligence No Stress device monitors engine load and automatically adjusts feed roller speed to prevent the engine from stalling under heavy load, allowing operators to focus on feeding material rather than managing engine revs.

The easy-access anvil design simplifies blade changes and maintenance, reducing the time and effort needed to keep the cutting system in peak condition. Clear fuel tank windows provide instant visual confirmation of fuel levels without the need to open caps or use dipsticks. The robust, heavy-duty construction throughout ensures longevity in demanding commercial use.

Weighing 1050kg and measuring 2.3m in length with the hopper raised and 2.4m in height with the discharge chute fitted, the Cadet 6TR is compact enough for trailer transport yet substantial enough for stable, productive chipping.
