The ARB Max D35 is a compact yet powerful 13-inch tracked drum wood chipper that sits at the intersection of portability and performance. Powered by a Deutz 2.9 Stage 5 engine producing 75hp (55kW) and 300Nm of torque with no AdBlue requirement, the D35 delivers reliable chipping power with simplified maintenance and lower running costs compared to AdBlue-equipped alternatives.

The standout feature of the D35 is its 2,700kg gross weight, which keeps the machine comfortably under the 3,500kg trailer threshold. This means the D35 can be towed to site behind a standard vehicle without the need for a heavy plant trailer or specialist transport, dramatically reducing mobilisation costs and logistical complexity for tree surgery contractors and grounds maintenance teams.

Despite its compact footprint, the D35 accepts timber up to 13 inches through its 350mm x 450mm feed opening. The 3-pocket knife rotor features a quick-change system that allows blade swaps in minutes without specialist tools. Both the knives and the anvil are manufactured from 8% chromium alloy for extended edge retention and durability when processing hardwood and contaminated timber. The Hardox-lined chamber with replaceable wear liner protects the machine’s core structure while keeping maintenance costs predictable.

A G50 biomass screen comes as standard, producing consistent chip size suitable for biomass fuel applications. The discharge system offers full 360-degree rotation with a maximum height of 2.6 metres, allowing direct loading into trailers and containers from any position.

The operator interface centres on an HD colour HMI display with two selectable chipping modes for logs and brash, plus an ECO mode that reduces fuel consumption and noise output for work in residential areas and noise-sensitive environments. Three emergency stop buttons are positioned around the machine, and the oversized folding hopper features three independent safety stop bars for comprehensive operator protection.

Transport dimensions of 3,392 x 1,621 x 2,600mm and working dimensions of 3,864 x 1,621 x 2,600mm make the D35 manoeuvrable in confined spaces. The 1,500mm track width provides stable operation on soft and uneven ground, while the 60-litre fuel tank delivers full-day running capacity. A backup wired remote is included as standard, ensuring the operator always has control even if the primary control system requires attention.
