FSI B28

The FSI B28 is a powerful self-propelled pedestrian stump grinder that bridges the gap between compact pedestrian machines and full-size self-propelled units. Powered by a Kohler ECH749 petrol engine producing 26.5hp (19.8 kW) with electronic fuel injection, it delivers improved fuel economy compared to similar carburetted engines while providing substantial cutting power.

The hydraulic 2WD ground drive with mechanical differential lock provides reliable traction across varied terrain. The 90-degree swing-out operator panel gives an excellent view of the working area and places all controls conveniently within reach. Automatic braking ensures the machine holds position safely on slopes.

The FSI power-cut cutter wheel measures 446mm in diameter with 8 FSI 21 teeth, driven through the FSI power-clutch — a purpose-designed hydraulic clutch with integrated brake that is fully serviceable with all components available as individual spare parts. Upon release of the safety bar, the cutter wheel stops within seconds. The hydraulic sweep system provides effortless side-to-side cutting across the generous 150cm sweep width.

The cutting head works 84cm above ground and 35cm below, with a maximum cutting depth of 3.4cm per sweep. This substantial below-ground capability enables thorough stump removal well below surface level. The 35-litre fuel tank supports extended working sessions on larger sites.

Weighing 665kg with dimensions of 2,720mm x 800mm x 1,180mm, the B28 is transportable on standard plant trailers. Optional twin wheels with tractor or turf profile, LED work light, and FSI power-sweep intelligent sweep controller are available to further enhance capability and versatility.
