The FSI B21 is a compact and narrow pedestrian stump grinder designed for professional stump removal in confined spaces. At just 680mm wide, it passes through standard garden gates and accesses areas that larger machines cannot reach. Available with a choice of 14hp Kohler CH440 or 11hp Honda GX390 petrol engine, the B21 delivers effective cutting performance in a lightweight, manoeuvrable package.
The FSI power-cut cutter wheel measures 386mm in diameter and carries 8 FSI 21 teeth, driven through a centrifugal clutch and V-belt system. The single-sided mounting of the cutting disc makes V-belt tensioning simple with no parallelism to maintain. The cutting head works 30cm above ground level and 25cm below, with a 90cm sweep width and maximum cutting depth of 2.4cm per sweep.
A key feature of the B21 is its patented hill-hold brake system. Individual wheel brakes block forward motion, allowing the operator to safely pull the stump grinder backwards on ramps, up steps, or across uneven terrain with minimal effort. This significantly improves safety and control on sloping ground.
The vibration-damped, height-adjustable operator handle combined with the pivot-point design reduces operator fatigue during extended use. A safety bar disengages the cutter wheel immediately upon release for safe operation. An hour meter with service alarms at 25 and 100 hours helps maintain the machine in peak condition.
The closed bearing for the cutter wheel is pre-greased from factory for over 1,000 hours of normal operation, eliminating daily greasing requirements and the risk of under or over-greasing. Multiple lashing and lifting points enable quick securing for transport between job sites.
Weighing just 130kg (Kohler) or 135kg (Honda), the FSI B21 is practical to transport on trailers and easy to manoeuvre on site. It is ideal for arborists, landscapers, and grounds maintenance professionals who need reliable stump removal in tight or difficult-to-access locations.
